Last year, Ekonomist Media Group (EMG) organized a one day conference on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This was the first high level event of this type in Serbia. The participants at this event were the leading companies and institutions who take pride in their CSR activities. Among the participants were representatives from: UNICEF, UNDP, OEBS, US Steel, Holcim, BAT, Philip Morris, Ball Packaging, Telenor, Koncern Bambi Banat, Erste Bank, EFG Bank, Deloitte, HP, CISCO, MPC Properties, HIP Petrohemija, JTI, Wiener Stadtische, Henkel, Lafarge BFC, as well as representatives from the leading media houses in the country, well known PR agencies, and key government representatives.
This year’s discussion topics:
· State taxation policy towards the activities of CSR active companies
· What do CSR active companies expect from the government?
· Which types of CSR projects should have priority?
· Companies and the State as the initiators and leaders of the development of the non-profit sector -
challenges and tendencies
· Sponsoring big sport, cultural and artistic events and manifestations-advertisement or authentic concern
for the community?
· Can sport, culture and the arts survive without the sponsorship of big companies-the States role?
These and many other questions will be answered by the business elite of the country, government representatives, as well as well known celebrities.
