Serbia-Albania economic relationships have been strengthening in recent years, with Serbian exports to Albania growing from $15 to $85 million from 2001-2007. In order to further build this relationship, 21 Serbian companies will exhibit their goods and services at the 16th Panair - International Trade Fair in Tirana from November 25-30.

Eight of these 21 companies are supported by USAID through the USAID Serbia Competitiveness Project and the USAID Serbia Economic Security Project, which both seek to promote the growth of Serbia’s small and medium enterprises.

The Fair includes companies from a broad range of sectors and the Serbian companies supported by USAID include companies that specialize in construction services, building materials, and food processing. The Serbian delegation includes:

• FEMAN from Jagodina manufactures cable accessories, electro materials, tools and wiring equipment.
• Elma TT from Backa Topola produces dry transformers, mufflers, charges, and welding units.
• Jugoterm from Nis (www.jugoterm.rs) produces iron panel radiators.
• Tim Trade from Leskovac is a wire processing company.
• IGM Mladost also from Leskovac produces ceramic roof tiles and bricks.
• Spectar Commerce Trend doo based in Belgrade is interior design and supply firm.
• Pegasus from Vranje , produces leather furniture for commercial and home use. It has earned the 2009 Novi Sad Furniture Fair Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce award for quality and the 2008 Gold medal for Product Design.
• Moravka is one of South Serbia’s strongest companies in food processing sector, specializing in spices and coffee, and winner of the Gold Medal for Art Coffee and the Silver Medal for quality of coffee at the Novi Sad Food Fair in 2008.

Both the food processing and construction and building materials sectors are important to Serbia’s economy and are leading exporters.

Serbia’s agricultural products are increasingly finding markets abroad due to their high-quality and competitive prices. Serbian construction and building materials firms are also internationally competitive and can offer excellent value for the building industry in Albania.
