The Encyclopedia's editorial board is to make the corrections in cooperation with ethnic Albanian MANU members and scientists of non-majority communities in the FYRepublic of Macedonia.

The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) will stop to distribute the 'Macedonian Encyclopedia', and for a shortest period of time will correct the disputable texts of the two volume-publication: the Albanian-Macedonian relations, Albanians in Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, Aggression over Macedonia, ONA (NLA) and Gonxhe Agnesë Bojaxhiu, MANU Presidency concluded Wednesday at a several-hour meeting.

The Encyclopedia's editorial board is to make the corrections in cooperation with ethnic Albanian MANU members and scientists of non-majority communities in the FYRRepublic of Macedonia.

The MANU Presidency will convene an extraordinary assembly that will focus on the reactions, remarks and suggestions related to the Encyclopedia, the editorial board's work and future activities for realization of this scientific project.

- MANU Presidency is deeply concerned because the first Macedonian Encyclopedia has stirred fierce, controversial reactions and unwillingly become a reason for new interethnic tensions in R. Macedonia. The MANU Presidency is distancing itself from and express concern about the possible inaccuracies, incorporated in the first Encyclopedia's edition, assuring the Macedonian, international public that the (academy) will correct them without revising the historic facts and irritating the collective emotions of the communities that are part of modern R. Macedonia, MANU says in a press release.

MANU as the highest scientific FYRMacedonia's institutions has never promoted, shared any form of anti-Albanian animosity with other institutions, nor generated any kind of xenophobia in relation to the ethnic communities in Macedonia and nations in the region.

- MANU Presidency refutes the inappropriate attempts for denying the academy's status as the highest scientific, artistic institution, being sorry for the inappropriate formulations that have unintentionally permeated in some authors' texts, and for which both US and British Embassies expressed reserves. The public reactions to this Encyclopedia at home demonstrate the significance of having serious scientific dialogue on all open issues of the present and future. Considering the fact that science and scientists should take the responsibility as main protagonists of the century of knowledge and science, MANU, as thus far, is ready for a scientific dialogue with all scientists in Macedonia about every matter, treated in the disputable texts, as well as about all other issues of scientific significance, the press release reads.
