The Government will allocate one-time assistance in amount of Denar 610,000 (Euro 10,000) to the monk brotherhood of monastery "St.Jovan Bigorski", which was caught by fire on Wednesday.

According to Spokesman Martin Martinoski, the Government passed the decision at yesterday's session, whereas competent institutions should launch projects for restoration of the destroyed monastery parts.

On Thursday, companies "Cosmofon" and "Fershped" said they would grant donations for the reconstruction of the monastery. "Cosmofon" will donate Euro 10,000, telecommunications equipment and electrical appliances, while "Fershped" will donate over Euro 8,000.

The monk brotherhood of monastery "St.Jovan Bigorski" today also issued an appeal for help.

Phone lines for donations were opened by the three mobile operators in the country (T-Mobile, Cosmofon and VIP) as well as Denar and foreign currency bank account. Citizens are able to donate finances to the Denar bank account:

The "St.Jovan Bigorski" monastery was caught by fire damaging its old premises. Two dinning rooms, kitchen, guest room, gallery, the library and monks' facilities were burnt to the ground.

The National Conservation Center has assessed the damages at about Euro 5,5 million.
