Republika Srpska’s transport minister Nedeljko Cubrilovic rejected yesterday speculation that Austrian Strabag would abandon the motorway network project, and asserted that the Government of RS is taking all the necessary steps to meet commitments it had assumed in the agreement with Austrians.

However, he underlined that Strabag is not entirely satisfied with the technical aspect of a project by Croatian IGH, and wants smaller construction costs. Strabag disagrees with IGH’s valuation in its feasibility study.

The Government of RS and Strabag signed a joint venture agreement for this project on May 19. The first section of the motorway network, from Banja Luka to Doboj, will be 71 kilometres in length.
