International Hydro-energy forum held in Varna

For the time being Bulgaria is using only 30% of its hydro-energy potential. The use of renewable energy sources is an engagement Bulgaria has undertaken in view of the European Commission.
The Black Sea city of Varna was the venue of the First Hydro-energy forum for Southeast Europe.
At a news conference the organizers announced that the initiative had brought together representatives from Bulgaria, Romania and Albania and representatives of leading hydro-energy companies from Austria, Germany and Italy.
For the time being Bulgaria is using only 30% of its hydro-energy potential. The use of renewable energy sources is an engagement Bulgaria has undertaken in view of the European Commission.
According to that engagement by 2020 this country should derive 16% of its electricity from renewable energy sources.
