The prices of doctor’s services and follow-up treatment paid by the National Health Service will go up, Finance Minister Simeon Djankov said. He was speaking to a convention of the Bulgarian Doctors Union in the Black Sea resort Ravda.
Djankov informed there was a disbalance in the country’s budget- Bulgaria is spending less than the rest of EU countries on healthcare and education and much more on the power sectors. This is going to change gradually over the following five years, Djankov said.
Healthcare should given at least a 50% increase in the state budget according to him. Prices on follow-up state paid medical treatment should be 30% higher on an average, he pointed out.
