Bulgaria: Possible nationwide flue epidemic by week end

Bulgarian Minister of Healthcare Bojidar Nanev acquainted Bulgaria’s government with the epidemic circumstances in the country.

Bulgarian Minister of Healthcare Bojidar Nanev acquainted Bulgaria’s government with the epidemic circumstances in the country.

He pointed out that up to date the new virus A/H1N1 has taken 5 lives in this country and another five patients are in a very grave state. 132 people per 10 000 are estimated infected, which means that about 100 000 are ill.

Nationwide epidemic has not been proclaimed yet because the value should reach more than 200/ 10 000, Minister Nanev said and added that it is possible that value to be reached by the end of the week.

Nanev further informed that as of today 2 million Leva have been granted for additional medications necessary for curbing swine flu.
