Industrija Nafte d.d. Zagreb (INA) has launched test gas production on the Annamaria field within the North Adriatic exploitation area, by putting in trial operation six wells and Annamaria A gas platform, located in the Croatian part of the Annamaria field.

Gas field Annamaria extends within the epicontinental area between Croatia and Italy and is divided by the median line.

Putting on stream the joint Croatian-Italian gas field is a major success of both partners INA and Eni S.p.A (Eni). The precondition for joint production was reaching a bilateral agreement regarding sharing of production and reserves.

INA and Eni plan joint development and construction of necessary offshore production facilities as provided for in the Annamaria Integrated Develpment and Operating Agreement approved by the responsible ministries of both states.

Successful cooperation between INA and Eni started in 1996 with setting up of a joint operating company INAgip for the purpose of carrying out gas exploration and production activities in the North Adriatic contract area.

The test gas production on the Annamaria gas field of approximately 400,000 m3 gas per day (INA share), together with other gas fields in the Adriatic, shall substantially contribute to the security of gas supply in Croatia.
