Bulgaria has unfavourable development of the competitiveness index

From 2002 to 2009 Bulgaria has shown unfavourable development of the conditions for competitiveness and according to the report of the World Economic Forum it is in the group ranking from 59th to 79th place.

From 2002 to 2009 Bulgaria has shown unfavourable development of the conditions for competitiveness and according to the report of the World Economic Forum it is in the group ranking from 59th to 79th place.

This was announced in Sofia at the opening of the conference “The competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy in the conditions of an economic crisis – consequences and perspectives".

The troublesome facts about Bulgaria make a discussion on this issue inevitable as the country is in on of the last places in the EU according to its competitiveness, commented participants in the forum.

Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov said that one of the most powerful mechanisms to help the Bulgarian enterprises is the operative programme “Competitiveness”, which is managed by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and it will work for the maximum use of the funds for it.

The amount is more than 1 million euro
