Slovenia ranked 53rd (58th last year) out of a total of 183 countries in a research conducted by World Bank and the company PricewaterhouseCoopers, Doing Business 2010.

With regards to taxes Slovenia ranked 84th and thus dropped from 78th place it took last years. It is worth adding that Slovenians pay 37.5 percent tax on profit.

Slovenia ranked 162nd when it comes to employment and 87th in the category of acquiring loans. In terms of cross border operation, Slovenia ranks 84th: it takes 6 documents and 20 days for export, and 8 documents and 21 days for import.

Construction licence can be acquired through 14 proceedings and 197 days, while bankruptcy proceedings are resolved within two years.
