Recession caused 70,832 lay-offs in BH in the first nine months of 2009, Director of the BH Labour and Employment Agency Huso Saric concerted in Sarajevo yesterday.

He also emphasized that there would be no improvements in BH’s labour market without foreign investments and public works. Statistically, the unemployment rate is around 24 per cent, but the rate of registered unemployment is 43 per cent, he said ahead of the 5th conference of the Centre of Public Employment Services of SEE (CPESSEC).

The Centre’s goal is to make the SEE region a unique labour market one day.
