Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki and his Albanian counterpart Ilir Meta said Monday that relations between both countries were good and that efforts were made for their further development, especially in the sphere of economy.

At a press conference in Tirana it was noted that key projects are Corridor 8 and the strengthening of bilateral and trade ties, cooperation and exchange of experiences in terms of EU integration processes, MIA reports.

Albanian President Bamir Topi will visit FYRMacedonia in April, when a business forum is planned to be organized. A visit to Skopje is also in the works for Prime Minister Sali Berisha. It was announced that both governments are due to sign a cooperation agreement in terms of EU accession.

- We'll resume building Macedonia as a model of multi-ethnic and democratic society, Milososki stated. At the forthcoming census, slated for 2011, the citizens of Albania will be able to express their national and religious background, which will be a good opportunity for Macedonians living in Albania, being loyal citizens, to express their national origin and to become a more integrated part to the Albanian society.

The Albanian FM reiterated that his country supported FYRMacedonia's membership to NATO, saying he hoped that obstacles would be overcome for Macedonia to join the Alliance.

- We encourage further implementation of reforms in Macedonia, because it have accelerated country's EU integration process, said Meta urging full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, which in his opinion would prompt Macedonia's process of EU integration.

Asked about the instruction of Macedonian language by first-graders from minority communities, Milososki said Macedonia was one of the countries with most liberal educational system, where every community had an opportunity to be educated in its mother tongue.

- Macedonian language instruction can contribute to the concept of multi-ethnic Macedonia. We are aware that sometimes educational projects are affected by political debates, he said adding that challenges could be surpassed. - We are content with the constructive inclusion of key Albanian parties in Macedonia on the matter, added Milososki.

FM Meta said Albania would use the Macedonian-Kosovo model for sea border demarcation with Greece.

Asked to comment ongoing debates on the Skopje 2014 Project, Minister Milososki said it had urban and architectural values and had no ethnic background.

Earlier, both ministers signed cooperation protocols between the ministries and a cooperation protocol between the Macedonian MoFA's Diplomatic Education Directorate and the Albanian MoFA's Diplomatic Academy
