The Higher Court of London has released from custody a member of the wartime BIH Presidency, Ejup Ganic, on bail, whose extradition was requested by Serbia, as he is suspected of a war crime against members of the Yugoslav People’s Army in Sarajevo in 1992.

As BBC reports, he has been released on bail under very strict conditions. He will be at large in the British territory pending the court’s decision on Serbia’s request on extradition, which is expected towards the end of March.

The conditions include a night curfew and his staying at an unknown location in London and compulsory reporting to the police station. His lawyers gave 300,000 pounds for bail.

Ganic was arrested at the Heathrow airport in London on March 1, based on a circular Serbia issued after him and another 18 persons from BIH, for the attack mounted on members of the Yugoslav People’s Army in Dobrovoljacka street in Sarajevo in mid-1992, when 42 members of the Yugoslav People’s Army were brutally killed, 73 wounded and 215 captured while retreating according to agreement.
