ICJ procedure on FYRMacedonia's motion against Greece begins

FYRMacedonia instituted proceedings before the ICJ against Greece on November 17 due to violation of the 1995 Interim Accord, thus preventing the invitation for NATO accession at the Bucharest Summit.
The first official meeting between Macedonian and Greek representatives and co-representatives related to Skopje motion against Athens over the breaching of the bilateral Interim Accord of 1995 was held Monday in the Hague-based International Court of Justice, reads Foreign Ministry press release.
The meeting, chaired by ICJ President Rosalind Higgins, was attended by countries' delegations, led by official Government representatives in the process, as well as the Court Registrar.
According tor ICJ Statute, the dynamics of written submissions is to be determined in the near future by the Court.
FYRMacedonia is represented by co-representative, Ambassador Nikola Dimitrov, on behalf of representative, Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, who departed Monday for India visit. Dimitrov is accompanied by Croatian Professor Budisla Vukas - ad-hock judge of Macedonia.
Greece is represented by the country's Ambassador to the Netherlands Konstantinos Rallis, Ambassador Giorgos Savaidis and Foreign Ministry legal advisor Maria Telalian. Greek ad-hoc judge is Athens University professor Emmanuel Rukunas.

The ICJ is requested to order Greece to observe its obligations within the Accord, which is legally binding for both countries.
