The subsidiary of Slovenian Railways, Centralne delavnice Ljubljana, will not purchase the company Siemens Transportation Systems (STS) from Maribor, i.e. the former company for the production of railway vehicles TVT Nova.
Negotiations with the owner, the German Siemens, were unsuccessful, announced Slovenian Railways.
The company submitted an unbinding offer for the purchase of STS in July last year, performed due diligence of the company in September, and then published a binding offer for the purchase of a 100 percent stake in the company.
Siemens notified its 323 employees on the planned sale of STS in mid December and then announced that they will close down the plant if the sale proves to be unsuccessful.
