The Fiat Automobiles Serbia factory in Kragujevac announced on Oct. 8 that, so far, it has manufactured and sold 10,000 Fiat Punto cars.

The Fiat Automobiles Serbia factory in Kragujevac announced on Oct. 8 that, so far, it has manufactured and sold 10,000 Fiat Punto cars.

It was stated that the factory began producing the Punto in Kragujevac at the end of March 2009, achieving a production rate of 120 vehicles per day.

The 10,000th Punto that rolled off the factory's assembly line has a multijet diesel engine.

The factory produces Punto automobiles with petrol or diesel engines, it was stated, and added that the production and sale of gasdriven vehicles will begin within weeks.

Fiat Automobiles Serbia, a joint company founded by the Serbian government and Italian company Fiat, was established in Oct. 2008.
