Culture Minister Nebojša Bradić opened in the Italian Institute in Belgrade an exhibition entitled: Andrea Mantegna. Frescoes of the Ovetari Chapel in Padua. Treasure Rediscovered.

Emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage, he said Italian institutions mutually exchange information and discoveries, which can also be applied in Serbia. Italian Ambassador Armano Varicchio said the exhibited frescoes had been rediscovered through a complex restoration intervention, with the helpo of innovative multimedia instruments at Padua University.

After March 11, 1944, some 80,000 fragments of frescoes from the Eremitani church, of some 5cm in size, were discovered and they corresponded with the entire destroyed surface. The exhibition is opened until November 20.
