Serbian parliament President Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic has stated that the parliament might vote on the bill on the transfer of authority from the Republic to Vojvodina in November, underscoring that the law has to be harmonized with the Constitution.
"I have information that the department ministries have completed their work and that the Bill on the transfer of authority from the republic to the province authorities in Vojvodina will be on the agenda of the first coming session of the government, which is why one may expect the parliament to vote on it in November," Djukic-Dejanovic said for Blic.
She said that MPs from the SPS will never vote for a bill that is anti-constitutional, underscoring that the law on the authority has to be harmonized with the Constitution, while the statute should be in keeping with the law.
"If the statute is not in keeping with the law, it will have to be harmonized at the Vojvodina Assembly. This does not mean that it will happen but the pace with which the statute and the bill will arrive in the parliament depends on that," said Djukic-Dejanovic.
Djukic-Dejanovic evaluated that "the adoption of the Statute and autonomy of Vojvodina are the prerequisite for a good functioning of the state" and that is why "all those who are in the Serbian government do not have a single reason to disagree on this issue."
