Osnat Lubrani will be taking up the position as the UN Development Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo starting October 30, 2009, the UN has announced in Pristina.

Osnat Lubrani will be taking up the position as the UN Development Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo starting October 30, 2009, the UN has announced in Pristina.

Lubrani, with an experience of 20 years in the UN, will replace Frode Mauring. Lubrani, a dual citizen of Israel and the USA, served as UNIFEM's Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe, overseeing programmes to advance women's empowerment and rights in context of transition and post-conflict recovery.

She was seconded to UNDP in Skopje to support the country office in adapting its country programmes in response to the 2001 crisis.

During the 1990s she worked as a consultant in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
