A 58-year-old retired woman from the town of Cuprija died in the local hospital from aftereffects of swine flu infection, epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on Nov. 4.
A 58-year-old retired woman from the town of Cuprija died in the local hospital from aftereffects of swine flu infection, epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on Nov. 4.
Kon, who heads a Health Ministry working group tracking the spread of the virus, told BETA that the woman had suffered from heart disease and fell ill on Oct. 29.
She is the third Serbian victim of swine flu. The previous victims were a woman from near Krusevac and a woman from Kraljevo.
Remarking to BETA that the epidemilogical situation in Serbia is not good, Kon added that there is a possibility of the disease spreading to other areas.
There are 187 confirmed cases of swine flu in Serbia, two of which ended in death, the Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut Public Health Institute announced on Nov. 4.
