Regional cooperation to be strengthened

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic said today that it was agreed at a meeting of Central and Eastern Europe heads of state and government in Bucharest that more expert regional initiatives will be supported and regional cooperation will be further strengthened.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic said today that it was agreed at a meeting of Central and Eastern Europe heads of state and government in Bucharest that more expert regional initiatives will be supported and regional cooperation will be further strengthened.

In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Djelic said that agreement was reached concerning support for expert regional initiatives such as the strategies for the Danube, the Roma etc, as well as further strengthening of regional cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he proposed the forming of a fund for investments in high technology in the Western Balkans, and explained that it would be an institution of crucial importance in transforming the ideas of talented engineers and scientists from our region into products and services that will be offered on the world market.

He said that the idea will be officially presented at a summit of the EU and Western Balkans on December 9 in Brussels.
