Dailies report that the Central Election Committee (CEC) failed on Sunday to announce the preliminary results of local elections through SMS, as was promised on November 3rd by Xhemajl Peqani, chief of the CEC Secretariat.

The project proved unsuccessful on Sunday as the CEC could not publish preliminary results even six hours after the closing of polling stations.

CEC chairperson Nesrin Lushta justified the failure of the project.
