General Manager of the Serbian public company Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic stated that gas may become cheaper as of January 2010.

General Manager of the Serbian public company Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic stated that gas may become cheaper as of January 2010.

"We will suggest the drafting of a social map. The aim of Srbijagas is to make gas cheaper and more used," Bajatovic said in an interview published by the Belgrade daily Blic Thursday.

Bajatovic said that Srbijagas gived the option to the distributers to allow deffered payment of gas bills if they want to.

"As a supplier, Srbijagas allows the distributors to make an agreement with consumers about it. We are ready to continue with this next year," Bajatovic added.

He said that in the months when the last heating season was at its end, Srbijagas charged 30-40% of all gas bills, but now, when we are entering a new heating season, "we have to make consumers pay the outstanding bills." The charge of gas bills in Serbia is currently more than 90%.
