Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic will attend the 2nd Western Balkan regional conference, taking place on November 26–27 in Skopje.

Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration Bozidar Djelic will attend the 2nd Western Balkan regional conference, taking place on November 26–27 in Skopje.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet states that the main topic of the first panel discussion "2010 – The Year of the Western Balkans” will be the annual report on the progress of these countries in the process of stabilisation and association with the EU.

The second panel discussion will look at closer regional cooperation, the statement reads, recalling that the 1st regional conference was held in Belgrade on February 3, 2009, organised by the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet.

During the first conference the participating countries signed a joint statement having reached agreement on the necessity to speed up the EU integration process for Western Balkan countries, as well as to step up their efforts to improve and strengthen regional political, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation with the aim of the efficient and successful integration of these countries in to the EU.
