Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General, has evaluated in Istanbul that KFOR will be capable of guaranteeing safety despite the reduced number of its troops.

At an informal meeting of NATO defense ministers, Rasmussen said that progress had been made in Kosovo over the past 12 months and that KFOR was transformed into a lighter and more flexible structure after the reduction of its troops, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

However, there is no doubt that KFOR is fully capable of guaranteeing development of Kosovo in security conditions, underscored Rasmussen.
