The Italian companies are highly interested to invest in the Serbian Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, especially in its energy sector, according to what was said at a meeting organized in Novi Sad by the Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Resources.

The Italian delegation, headed by Vice President of Unimpresa's branch in Timisoara Gilberto Tiveron, met with Provincial Secretary for Energy and Mineral Resources Radoslav Strikovic, Provincial Secretary for Environment Protection and Sustainable Development Slobodan Puzoviæ and Assistant Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Dusan Kuzman.

The Italian businessmen have expressed willingness to invest in ecology, agriculture, construction and service industry. This will be the topic of their discussions with potential partners from Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and North Banat District over the next two days.

The potential projects which stand the best chance of being realized are building small hydros and solar collectors, growing health food and developing ethno and eco tourism.

Tiveron stressed that Vojvodina is interesting for Italian investors because it allows for good communication with their countrymen working in the Romanian part of Banat and because the province is a veritable bread-basket of Europe.
