Sources at the Kosovo ministry confirmed  that the Kosovo delegation, that was to be headed by the deputy foreign minister, was prevented from participating due Egypt's stand.

Egypt is blocking the participation of a Kosovo delegation in an Islamic Conference (OIC) event, media reports say.

Albanian language daily Koha Ditore writes that the Kosovo Albanian delegation has been barred from attending the Second Ministerial Conference on Women's Role in Development of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) "for political reasons".

Despite an agreement reached in principle with the Conference secretary that a delegation of the Kosovo Foreign Ministry should take part in the OIC ministerial conference, to be held in Cairo Nov. 24-25, Egypt has blocked this for political reasons, the newspaper said.

Sources at the Kosovo ministry confirmed for the daily that the Kosovo delegation, that was to be headed by the deputy foreign minister, was prevented from participating due Egypt's stand.

Egypt is one of the countries that have not recognized Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence.
