The European Commission received the Serbian government's report on Sept. 27, regarding the remaining conditions for the European Union's decision for abolishing visas for Serbian citizens starting Jan. 1, 2010.

This was confirmed for BETA in Brussels by European Commission sources. EC spokesperson Michele Cercone said that it is an "internal process" which the Commission cannot give any additional information on.

Cercone, who is European Legislative and Interior Affairs Commissioner Jacques Barrot's spokesperson, said that the European Commission will analyze the report submitted by the Serbian government soon.

He said that the Commission will give a statement once it makes a final decision on the implementation of measures and conditions which Belgrade must fulfill, after which the EU Council of Ministers will then be informed of Serbia's progress.
